You
can expect:
A reply from Adoption Assessors, Ltd. within 72 hours of your first
contact with us. At that time, we will discuss your needs and
whether we can assist
you with your homestudy for adoption. We will want to know the type
of adoption you are pursuing, and whether you are working with
an agency or
an attorney to facilitate the adoption. We will also want to know whether
you are adopting locally, interstate or internationally. You can contact
us by email, fax, or by phone. We will then send you an application
for adoption, and when completed, will be ready to schedule your
appointments
to begin the assessment.
A homestudy for adoption completed by a certified adoption assessor,
from an agency that is licensed by the state of Ohio. Our homestudies
meet the
requirements for U.S. Immigration, as well as most adoption agencies.
Questions about the assessment will be answered before we begin
to work with your
family.
A homestudy completed within a reasonable timeframe. It takes approximately
30 days to complete a study. This will involve 6-8 hours of in-person
contact with your family. Below is a list of documents that we need
to review for
the study:
1. Certified marriage certificate, as relevant
2. Certified divorce certificate, as relevant
3. Driver's license number
4. Fire inspection report of your home
5. Completed applicant financial statement
6. Four personal references
7. Completed medical forms for applicants and household members
8. A criminal record check of all individuals over 18 in the home
9. A completed application form
